Cart

This 3D cart model was a project where I wanted to blend my technical skills with a bit of environmental storytelling. Modeled in Maya, I focused on nailing the structure and functional details of the cart, from the sturdy wooden panels to the metal wheels and framework that give it a rustic, well-used look.

Using Substance Painter for texturing, I added layers of worn-out wood grain and metal scratches to give the cart a sense of history—like it's been through years of service. The rust, dirt, and subtle imperfections bring it to life, making it feel like it has a story of its own.

The final render came together in Arnold, where I comped the model with an HDRI backdrop, adding a realistic outdoor setting. The HDRI helped me integrate the cart seamlessly into its environment, giving it natural lighting and reflections that make it feel grounded in the world. This combination of realistic lighting and the textured detail gives the scene a natural and believable vibe.

For me, this project wasn’t just about creating an object but capturing the essence of where it belongs and how it’s been used. It’s the kind of cart you’d find in a market or workshop, full of character and worn by time.
